Grayscale Splits Zcash ETF to Tame Soaring Share Prices
Grayscale's Zcash ETF has been experiencing explosive growth, rising more than 2,800% in the last year. However, this rapid increase in value has made individual shares unaffordable for smaller investors. To address this issue, Grayscale has filed a proposal to carry out a 3-for-1 forward share split on its Zcash ETF (ZCSH).
The forward split will reduce the price per share of the fund by approximately one-third, making it more accessible to retail investors. Shareholders who hold shares as of September 28 will receive two additional shares for every one they already own. The new shares will be distributed on September 29, and trading under the adjusted ticker (still ZCSH) will begin on September 30.
The move is a response to the ETF's growing popularity, with over $233 million in net assets as of September 17. ZCSH has been attracting significant investment since its launch on August 25, with a single day trading volume of $112 million on September 8 and a total of $46.6 million on this week.
