Grayscale Zcash ETF Unveils 3-for-1 Share Split Amid Soaring Token Value
Grayscale's Zcash ETF (ZCSH) has filed for a 3-for-1 forward share split. This means that at the close of trading on September 28, shareholders will receive two extra shares for each one they hold. The purpose of this split is to decrease the price per share of the fund, while keeping the total value unchanged. According to Grayscale, this will make the ETF more accessible to investors, especially considering the token has increased in value by about 2800% over the last year and its current price was considered too high.
The forward split will result in a proportionate increase in the number of shares outstanding. To illustrate this, if you owned 10 shares valued at $300 each for a total of $3,000 before the split, afterward you will own 30 shares valued at $100 each, keeping your total value at $3,000.
Paradigm co-founder Matt Huang recently described Zcash as a 'private complement to Bitcoin' and backed its developer fund, highlighting the importance of long-term funding for the project's continued development in the face of emerging threats from AI-driven cyber capabilities and quantum computing.
