Greece Joins EU MiCA Framework with First Four Crypto Firms Listed
Greece has made its first move into the European Union's Markets in Crypto-Assets (MiCA) regulatory framework. Four crypto-asset service providers have been added to the European Securities and Markets Authority's (ESMA) register, marking Greece's entry into the bloc's new licensing regime.
The firms are BCash, Xenios Blockchain Group, Capital Wallet Greece, and Piraeus Bank. Three of them fall under the Hellenic Capital Market Commission (HCMC), while Piraeus Bank is overseen by the Bank of Greece.
This comes after ESMA's MiCA register expanded to 359 unique crypto-asset service providers as of September 24, 2026. The addition is significant because it reflects the country's division of responsibility for crypto-asset supervision.
