Greece Joins MiCA Framework with Four New Crypto Firms
Greece has joined the European Union's MiCA framework by adding four crypto-asset service providers to its register. The ESMA MiCA register, updated on September 24, now lists BCASH, Xenios Blockchain Group, Capital Wallet Greece, and Piraeus Bank as authorized firms.
The four Greek companies are authorized to provide various crypto services under the EU framework. BCASH received authorization on June 30 for crypto-to-fiat exchange services, while Xenios Blockchain Group and Capital Wallet Greece were authorized on July 22. Capital Wallet Greece's allowed services include custody, crypto-to-fiat exchanges, order execution, and crypto transfers.
Piraeus Bank was authorized by the Bank of Greece on August 7 for services such as custody and administration of crypto-assets, order execution, reception and transmission of orders, and crypto-asset transfers. The Hellenic Capital Market Commission (HCMC) is listed as the competent authority for BCASH, Xenios Blockchain Group, and Capital Wallet Greece, while the Bank of Greece handles Piraeus Bank's oversight.
