Greek authorities have cracked down on a massive cryptocurrency investment scheme, arresting 17 individuals, including two alleged leaders.
The group, which operated since at least 2025, promised investors exceptionally high returns with little to no risk, recruiting at least 10,000 people and collecting over $8 million in the process.
Police conducted searches at multiple locations, seizing 32 mobile phones, 38 portable data storage units, 16 data storage disks, 28 laptops and desktop computers, 15 tablets, and 295,090 euros in cash.
The operation was the result of a months-long investigation by officers from the Katerini Crime Prosecution and Investigation Sub-Directorate.
