This significant share is dwarfing Claude at 13%, custom tools at 22%, and ChatGPT at just 2%. However, Coinbase has not revealed which specific cryptocurrencies these AI agents are buying.

The use of AI agents in trading has been growing rapidly since Coinbase introduced its 'Coinbase for Agents' service on June 11, 2026. This service allows AI tools to trade cryptocurrencies and derivatives within predefined spending limits set by their owners.
