GTA 6 Leak Fallout: Take-Two Targets Discord Users in Broad Subpoenas

Take-Two's federal subpoenas have targeted not only the group behind leaked GTA 6 footage, but also anyone who interacted with Discord servers related to the case.

The controversy began in late August when a manifesto-style post claimed that CYBERLEEK had the complete GTA 6 build mirrored on servers globally, auto-releasing unless manually cancelled each morning. However, this was later revealed to be fabricated by copycats imitating the group, not authenticated CYBERLEEK communication.

CYBERLEEK has actually released multiple GTA 6 clips and demonstrated interactive debug build access since August 18, 2026. The leaked version is an unfinished developer/debug build that requires Rockstar's authentication servers and infrastructure to function, making it effectively unplayable for most consumers without significant technical work.

The group claims to be protesting against digital-only releases, aggressive DLC, and eroding single-player content, and has reportedly collected millions of dollars in crypto during the saga. However, this ideology is complicated by the fact that they have profited significantly from the leaked footage.
