GTA 6 Leaker Defends Crypto Scheme Amid Ongoing Gameplay Leaks
Leaker CyberLeek has released several new GTA 6 gameplay videos in recent days, including footage of a nightclub and a beach scene. The latest video shows protagonist Jason exploring a video game store, complete with spoof consoles and game cases.
CyberLeek's message watermarked into the footage reads: 'People are confused. This is not about actual discs. It is about ownership. Resale rights still matter, even in a digital-only era.'
The leaks have been ongoing for eight days, despite Take-Two's subpoenas of Microsoft, Discord, and X/Twitter as part of the company's hunt for identifying information.
CyberLeek has launched a cryptocurrency scheme called 'CyberLeek' to fund their efforts, with users able to vote on gameplay video choices by sending tokens. The scheme is ostensibly about protesting Rockstar's decision not to sell GTA 6 on-disc.
Take-Two and Rockstar have yet to comment on the leaks, but former Rockstar Games technical director Obbe Vermeij downplayed the damage caused by the leaks, saying that the Hot Coffee scandal was much more damaging than these GTA 6 leaks.
