GTA 6 Leaks Linked to Meme Coin Scheme Worth Hundreds of Thousands
Leaks of Grand Theft Auto 6 (GTA 6) have dominated gaming news in recent days, but new evidence suggests that the hacker behind the leaks may not be motivated by a desire to expose Rockstar's business practices as claimed.
A meme coin called $CYBERLEEK has been promoted through each leak post, with the creator reportedly spending $29,000 on the coin and its website. Trading fees on the coin have already topped $30,000 in just 24 hours, recouping the initial investment.
The leak posts claimed to be a form of activism, targeting Rockstar's decision not to release a physical version of GTA 6 at launch and the game's high price tag. However, forum user Vice Cit discovered that the wallet data for $CYBERLEEK shows a private stash of 270 million coins on KuCoin, suggesting that Cyberleek may be sitting on a large supply of tokens to dump as the price rises.
The potential profit from this scheme is substantial, with an estimated $391,000 value based on today's prices. Vice Cit warns that shortly before the leaker is identified, another leak could drop, causing the coin's price to skyrocket and allowing Cyberleek to cash in.
