GTA 6 Scammers Target Crypto Wallets with Fake Leaked Game Site
Cybercriminals are exploiting excitement around Grand Theft Auto VI (GTA 6) to steal cryptocurrency from unsuspecting victims. A fake website mimics a legitimate GTA 6 fan page, claiming to offer a leaked copy of the game in exchange for cryptocurrency payments.
The malicious site displays convincing release information, maps, and countdowns alongside offers for a supposed leaked version. Victims are asked to connect their wallets, which then analyzes balances and prepares transactions designed to steal assets rather than collect the advertised price.
The attack can target wallets across multiple blockchain networks, including Ethereum, Polygon, BNB Smart Chain, Avalanche, Arbitrum, Base, and Fantom. Additionally, attackers can seek permissions allowing them to transfer tokens or NFTs later, further compromising wallet security.
