GTA VI Leak Controversy Spikes CYBERLEEK Meme Coin Value by 1400%
A Solana-based meme coin called CYBERLEEK has seen its value surge by over 1,400% in recent days amid controversy surrounding leaks of footage from Grand Theft Auto VI. The cryptocurrency, launched on August 15, has a market cap of $22 million and has been linked to the leaks through watermarked videos promoting it.
The group behind the leaks, CyberLeek, claims that it will trigger an automatic release of a playable GTA VI build if legal action forces them offline. However, a fact-check has found that the key piece of evidence supporting this claim was fabricated.
Take-Two's lawyers have issued subpoenas to Microsoft, Discord, and X in an effort to unmask the person behind the leaks, with the company seeking to identify the account holder by September 4. The firm has also accused CyberLeek of running a pump-and-dump scheme exploiting GTA VI excitement.
Rockstar's official Extended Look is scheduled for August 27 on Netflix, with the full game still set for November 19, 2026, on consoles.
