Gumi Consolidates $86M Treasury into XRP, Launches Actively Managed Fund
Gumi, a Japanese gaming and blockchain company backed by SBI Group, has consolidated its $86 million corporate digital asset treasury into XRP. This move makes Gumi one of Japan's largest corporate holders of XRP in the domestic market.
The company, along with SBI Group, launched an actively managed fund worth $18.3 million that will diversify across Bitcoin and other digital assets as market conditions change. This fund is separate from the company's XRP reserve and will be used to pursue broader opportunities for institutional investors.
Gumi has also developed a new institutional accounting platform in partnership with Hinode Technologies, which will automate staking rewards, gas fees, and onchain transactions for listed companies and institutions. The platform aims to address the operational burden that often blocks institutions from adopting digital assets at scale.
