Gunna's 2022 Crypto Scandal Resurfaces Amid Ongoing Trust Issues
Gunna's name has been tied to controversy in the past, and it resurfaced again this week. On August 15, 2026, a user named @Catolicc posted about rappers promoting cryptocurrencies without disclosing their involvement.
ZachXBT, a well-known blockchain investigator, replied with receipts from 2022 that alleged Gunna had promoted PushinPETH, a cryptocurrency project, and then deleted his tweet claiming his account was hacked.
The controversy dates back to January 2022 when Gunna tweeted about PushinPETH, describing it as a 'crypto metaverse' project. The coin's price chart showed a sharp spike after the tweet followed by a near-total collapse, a common pattern in rug pulls.
Gunna apologized at the time, claiming his account had been hacked and that he was unaware of the project. However, ZachXBT argued that the evidence suggested coordination between Gunna's camp and the coin's developer ahead of the launch.
