Haruko Crypto Platform Hit by Targeted Cyberattack

Share

Crypto platform Haruko has fallen victim to a targeted cyberattack that exposed sensitive data and led to a small amount of client funds being stolen. The breach affected 15 crypto clients, with trading data and read-only exchange API details compromised.

The attacker exploited a vulnerability in one of Haruko's processes, obtaining a user access token that granted access to process memory. This allowed the thief to view API keys and trading records, although client login credentials were not affected.

According to Chief Technology Officer Adam Carlile, 'This was a targeted attack by a group on us.'
