Hashbank Merges Traditional Banking and Crypto in One App
W Group has unveiled the next phase of its digital bank, hashbank, which merges traditional banking services with the capabilities of Web3 in a single app. The fully licensed universal digital bank allows customers to manage fiat banking and external crypto transfers seamlessly, supporting over 150 digital assets. This integration is rare in the banking sector, as hashbank enables users to receive digital assets from external wallets, exchange them for fiat, and send them to blockchain addresses, all within one secure environment.
Volodymyr Nosov, Founder and President of W Group, emphasized the importance of bridging Web2 and Web3. He stated, "We are not building businesses that exist only in Web2 or only in Web3. The biggest opportunities will emerge between them. Our task is to build the infrastructure, bridge, that allows these worlds to work together." Hashbank, which obtained a full banking license from the National Bank of Georgia in 2023 and began operations in 2024, now serves approximately 60,000 customers across 73 countries.
Goga Chanadiri, CEO of hashbank, highlighted the bank's innovative approach, noting, "By introducing this service, hashbank sets a new precedent for banking in Georgia and the wider region, strengthening the bridge between traditional banking and digital assets." The bank's strategic partnership with WhiteBIT, which has 10 million users, further enhances its ecosystem, serving around 40 million users globally. Future developments will focus on expanding international payment rails, new currencies, and cross-border corridors.
Hashbank's achievements have been recognized by Global Banking & Finance Review, which awarded it the title of "Best New Digital Bank Georgia 2026." This accolade underscores hashbank's leading position in the region's financial and technology sectors. W Group envisions hashbank as part of a broader, long-term model to create a global, full-cycle financial ecosystem that integrates banking, payments, digital assets, blockchain, and international financial infrastructure.
