Hashdex Bitcoin ETF Liquidated as DeFi Market Remains Volatile
Hashdex, a provider of exchange-traded funds (ETFs), has announced the liquidation of its Bitcoin ETF (DEFI) on August 17, 2026. The fund held $14.7 million in assets as of July 30, 2026. Shareholders who held shares up to that date will receive a cash liquidating distribution around August 28, 2026.
The Hashdex DeFi Index ETF (DEFI11), on the other hand, remains active and provides Brazilian investors with exposure to decentralized finance protocols. The fund's portfolio includes Uniswap at 19.08%, Ethereum at 10.76%, and Chainlink at 9.07%. It also holds assets like LIGHTER at 8.72% and Morpho at 8.46%.
Hashdex manages $435 million across Latin America, Europe, and the US. The company's DeFi11 ETF is listed on the Brazilian stock exchange, allowing investors to track decentralized protocols.
