Hashdex Ditches Smallest BTC ETF Amid Market Challenges
Hashdex, an issuer of Bitcoin exchange-traded funds (ETFs), has announced that it will liquidate its smallest fund, Hashdex Bitcoin ETF. The decision was made after evaluating factors such as trading liquidity, operating costs, and investor interest.
The fund, which has traded on the NYSE ARCA under the DEFI ticker since March 2024, has net assets of $14.25 million. It is one of 11 competing BTC ETFs in the US market.
Hashdex Bitcoin Futures ETF was originally launched in 2022 as a futures-based fund, but it never gained significant traction. Its highest asset level was reached on May 9, 2025, at $17.54 million.
