Hayes Buys $1.73M in Uniswap Tokens Amid Fee-Burning Expansion

Arthur Hayes, co-founder of BitMEX, has made a significant investment in Uniswap by purchasing 244,406 UNI tokens for approximately $1.73 million.

The purchase was made through Flowdesk's OTC operation at an average price of around $7.06 per token and is linked to a wallet previously identified with Hayes.

This transaction is notable not only due to its size but also because it comes as Uniswap pushes to expand the protocol-fee system that burns its native token, UNI.

Since December 2025, fees collected from parts of the Uniswap protocol have been used to remove UNI permanently from circulation through a burn mechanism introduced by the UNIfication governance overhaul.
