Hayes Sees $250k Bitcoin Price Without Crisis, Warns 75% Crash Possible
Arthur Hayes, chief investment officer (CIO) at Maelstrom and soon-to-launch FLOP Labs, believes Bitcoin's price will reach $250,000 without a major financial crisis. However, he warns that it could plummet by as much as 75% along the way.
Hayes attributes this potential growth to continued global money printing, which policymakers will continue to use to avoid a credit event tied to the booming artificial intelligence (AI) sector. He notes that 'we're not going to get sort of a 2008-sized credit event,' but instead will see 'just print, print and print.'
Hayes has a significant amount of exposure to Bitcoin, with his public equity holdings focused on gold miners, such as Exxon Mobil, which he sees as undervalued. He also notes that investors should be cautious and consider diversifying their portfolios.
