XRP Ledger Surpasses 5 Billion Transactions Amid Growing Adoption
The XRP Ledger (XRPL) network has reached an impressive milestone, it has processed over 5 billion transactions since its inception in 2012. According to data from XRPSCAN, XRPL recorded a total of 5,016,297,013 transactions between June 2, 2012 and August 27, 2026.
This achievement took 14 years, 2 months, and 25 days to reach. The growth of the XRP Ledger has been backed by Ripple Labs, a major holder of XRP. Ripple's efforts have contributed to XRPL's evolution, including gaining legal clarity in the United States after a court ruling that XRP is not a security.
The adoption of XRPL has been driven by tokenization of real-world assets (RWA), with rising demand for digital assets. The network now hosts $1.02 billion in stablecoin market capitalization, up 6.84% over the past 30 days. Additionally, the number of stablecoin holders on the network has increased to around 82,530, a 37.18% rise in 30 days.
The increasing adoption and activity on XRPL have been reflected in its on-chain metrics. As of press time, the XRPL had a total of 8,529,688 accounts, an all-time high (ATH) according to updates from CryptoQuant. The rising global adoption has fueled on-chain activity.
