Hayes Sees Ethereum at $10,000 by Year-End

Arthur Hayes, co-founder of BitMEX and current chief investment officer at Maelstrom, predicts that Ethereum will reach $10,000 by the end of 2026. This forecast comes with a gain of roughly 270% from its current level near $2,700.

Hayes' conviction is based on Ethereum's market capitalization and security, citing that he can allocate large sums without fear of sudden losses due to exploits. He also acknowledges that rival networks have captured specific market segments during the current cycle, such as Solana's rapid ascent in memecoin trading activity.

Hayes' personal ETH trades have been less successful, with documented losses exceeding $840,000 in June and August. The divergence between his stated long-term conviction and short-term trading results underscores the volatility that characterizes even sophisticated participants' engagement with digital asset markets.
