Hayes Sees Ethereum Outpacing Altcoin Peers in Crypto Rebound
Arthur Hayes, co-founder of BitMEX, thinks Ethereum (ETH) will outperform other major altcoins in the current cryptocurrency market rebound. In a recent interview on the Altcoin Daily YouTube channel, he pointed to Ethereum's large developer community and established DeFi ecosystem as key factors that could drive its relative strength.
Hayes outlined a scenario where if Bitcoin reaches $200,000 within the next five years, Ethereum could climb as high as $30,000. He also suggested that Bitcoin's dominance could fall to around 40% as altcoins gain ground. These projections are based on the assumption that the broader crypto market continues to recover and macroeconomic conditions become more favorable.
Hayes also expressed his views on Bitcoin's price outlook, suggesting it could reach $126,000 by the end of the year. He attributed this potential growth to excessive U.S. government debt and Treasury issuance forcing the Federal Reserve to provide liquidity, which would benefit hard assets like Bitcoin.
