HBAR Breakout Driven by Technicals, Institutions, and Network Activity
Hedera (HBAR) saw a notable price increase of 4.12% over the last 17 hours, driven by a technical breakout, institutional news, and strong on-chain activity.
The immediate catalyst for this move was a clear bullish setup and breakout in the last day, as highlighted by multiple traders on X. One analyst pointed out an inverted head and shoulders pattern on the 1 hour HBAR/USDT chart with a neckline around 0.0665-0.0670, noting that price had broken above that neckline with a target near 0.0700.
This breakout was amplified by positive institutional news, including the fact that Canary's spot HBAR ETF has accumulated over 1.6% of HBAR's circulating supply and has not experienced net outflows in any week. Additionally, UEX announced it will list HBAR with USD trading pairs and offer 4.5% APY on HBAR via savings rewards.
The record network activity, with a daily transaction count exceeding 300k, also contributed to the price increase. The modestly positive environment, with Bitcoin trading near its recent range of $64k-$65k, allowed for a mid-cap asset like HBAR to outperform by a few additional percentage points.
