Hedera Price Breaks Out as IBM Cloud Listing Boosts Market Activity
The Hedera (HBAR) price has seen a significant gain in market attention following an IBM Cloud development involving Hedera-based identity infrastructure. On September 28, HBAR posted a sharp 27% gain, but data from Santiment Intelligence indicates the move did not immediately follow the IBM-related announcement often credited for the breakout.
The IBM development represents a notable enterprise milestone for Hedera, providing decentralized identity infrastructure for people, devices, and AI agents. The listing gives IBM enterprise customers a direct route to access the solution through its cloud marketplace.
Santiment's data shows that the September 28 rally arrived alongside a significant expansion in derivatives positioning. Coin-denominated open interest increased 47% to nearly 1.2 billion HBAR, reaching a one-year high. The difference becomes larger when open interest is measured in dollars, where the increase was approximately 87%.
The technical structure of HBAR leaves $0.10, $0.101 as an important nearby support area, while $0.11 represents a key pivot around the previous breakout zone. Resistance remains concentrated around $0.12, $0.13, with the latter corresponding closely to the recent rally high.
