Hedera Surges 27% on IBM Listing, but XRP Remains Stronger
Hedera (HBAR) gained 27% in a single day after IBM listed Hedera's IDTrust app on its IBM Cloud Catalog. However, the excitement was short-lived, as HBAR fell 16% the next day. Despite this drop, IBM still lists the app, suggesting that the decline was due to profit-taking rather than negative news.
IDTrust, developed by The Hashgraph Group, is a Hedera-based identity app that allows individuals, devices, and AI agents to store digital identities on the Hedera network. This enables companies to verify that an AI agent has authority to act on their behalf.
While HBAR has seen significant gains, its recent surge is largely tied to the IBM announcement. In contrast, XRP has a larger market cap and has retained its value more effectively over the past year.
