Hegseth Discloses $3.1 Million in Assets Amid Impeachment Calls
U.S. Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth has reported at least $3.1 million in cash, retirement investments, and Bitcoin in his latest financial disclosure. The filing, which covers 2025, reveals a significant increase in Hegseth's assets compared to the previous year. His wife, Jennifer Hegseth, also reported substantial retirement investments worth between $1.55 million and $3.1 million.
The couple's holdings include five retirement-fund investments valued between $500,000 and $1.25 million each. They also have three cash accounts, with one holding more than $1 million, a significant increase from the previous year. The household's Bitcoin holdings are valued between $16,000 and $65,000.
Hegseth's new filing shows a broad reshuffling of the family's investments after he joined the administration in January 2025. This is typical for new cabinet secretaries to avoid potential conflicts of interest. Hegseth reported making 16 purchases of exchange-traded funds (ETFs) worth between $1.41 million and $3.05 million in 2025.
