Hegseth's Modest Bitcoin Holdings Revealed Amid Trump Family's Crypto Fortunes
U.S. Defense Secretary Peter Hegseth's financial disclosure reveals modest bitcoin holdings compared to his cash reserves and retirement accounts.
The document, released in January 2025, shows Hegseth has between $16,000 and $65,000 invested in Bitcoin, which is stored in a Coinbase wallet.
Contrastingly, he holds around $1 million in cash in a bank account. The disclosure also reveals his retirement accounts contain investments worth roughly $2.05 million to $4.35 million, including exchange-traded funds like the Invesco QQQ Trust and the Apollo Diversified Real Estate Fund.
Some transactions made by Hegseth include sales of Amazon, Microsoft, and Apple stock.
