Hewlett Packard Lands $1.2 Billion Vultr Order for AMD-Powered AI Racks
Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) has secured a massive $1.2 billion order from cloud infrastructure company Vultr to deploy its new Helios AI racks, powered by AMD's latest silicon.
The deal highlights the growing demand for AI compute power in the cloud and underscores HPE's aggressive move to capitalize on this trend.
The Helios rack-scale systems will deliver up to 2.9 exaFLOPS of FP4 performance per rack, thanks to their integration with AMD's Instinct MI455X GPUs, Zen 6 EPYC CPUs, Pensando networking solutions, liquid cooling, and open Ethernet fabric.
Vultr is also building a $1 billion AMD MI355X cluster in Ohio, which will be operational by early 2026. Additionally, the company will begin pre-orders for the Helios systems with deployments expected from Q4 2026.
