HK police have updated the case of the Fun Coffee cryptocurrency scam, which has seen total losses rise to approximately HK$1.04 billion (US$133 million). The update reveals that as of August 5th, there were 255 related reports filed with police, an increase of 30 from earlier numbers.

Australia's Macau police arrested two women suspected of involvement in nine cases worth around MOP3.6 million (approximately HK$43.8 million). The investigation into Fun Coffee is ongoing, and authorities have stated that they will contact victims and related parties to determine the masterminds behind the scam.

Fun Coffee had marketed itself as a major coffee investment company from Vietnam with over $10 billion in funds. In 2025, it claimed to be entering the Hong Kong market through events like marathons, parties, and social activities. However, its operations involved enticing users to download an app for tasks using USDT (Tether) and other cryptocurrencies.
