Hoskinson Accuses Ethereum of Copying Cardano's EUTXO Model Without Credit
Charles Hoskinson, co-founder of Cardano, has accused Ethereum developers of copying his team's work on Extended Unspent Transaction Output (EUTXO) architecture without proper credit. According to Hoskinson, a recent proposal by Ethereum Foundation researcher Toni Wahrstätter to introduce native UTXOs as one-shot payment objects mirrors the concept developed by Cardano over a decade ago.
Wahrstätter's proposal suggests that native UTXOs could reduce permanent state use by 99.8% for payment workloads that do not require persistent state, which is a significant efficiency gain for Ethereum's network.
Hoskinson argues that deterministic transaction behavior, which ensures transactions execute the same way regardless of network conditions, remains one of Cardano's strongest competitive advantages.
