Hoskinson: Crypto Enters New Era of Exponential Growth
Cardano founder Charles Hoskinson believes that cryptocurrency is entering a new era of exponential growth. Speaking at the United Nations, he compared blockchain technology to earlier advances in nuclear energy, the internet, and artificial intelligence.
Hoskinson pointed out that exponential technologies often develop slowly at first before their impact increases rapidly. He cited the example of the internet, which changed global communication from taking months to being almost instantaneous.
Similar changes are now happening with blockchain technology and artificial intelligence. Hoskinson noted that AI models are becoming more efficient, allowing increasingly capable systems to run on fewer computing resources.
The Cardano founder also discussed tokenization, a process where traditional assets like equities, currencies, and real estate are represented on-chain using blockchain-based systems. This can allow transactions to settle faster than some traditional financial infrastructure.
