Hoskinson Denies Centralized Control Claims Against Midnight
Cardano founder Charles Hoskinson has responded to allegations by Cyber Capital founder Justin Bons that Midnight is centralized, closed-source, and controlled by its founders. Bons questioned Midnight's decentralization, code transparency, token distribution, and capacity for decentralized finance activity.
Hoskinson dismissed the claims as 'FUD' and rejected the characterization of Midnight as a closed-source blockchain. He explained that the project currently operates in a federated mode, similar to Cardano's early development, but on an accelerated timeline.
The dispute emerged after Hoskinson predicted that Midnight could outperform Zcash due to its selective disclosure capabilities, private agents, and broader privacy and interoperability architecture. However, Bons' allegations raised questions about the project's governance and ownership structure.
