Hoskinson Hunts for Cardano Governance Fixes Amidst DAO Review
Charles Hoskinson is taking a hard look at governance models in over 11,000 decentralized autonomous organizations (DAOs) as he seeks to overhaul how Cardano settles internal disputes.
This initiative comes amidst a tense funding fight over an Input Output Global (IOG) treasury proposal, which is tracking towards defeat before its June 8 deadline. The proposal seeks 32.9 million ADA to fund Cardano's 2026 research roadmap, including quantum security and scaling work.
Roughly 87% of Delegated Representatives are voting against the measure, prompting Hoskinson to warn that IOG will not resubmit it if it fails. He is now considering registering as a DRep himself, which would give him a direct vote in Cardano's on-chain system.
Hoskinson's review aims to find structural fixes rather than quick patches. By drawing on thousands of DAO models, he hopes to shape amendments to how Cardano sets its roadmap and resolves executive-level disputes through its constitution.
