Hoskinson Hunts for Cardano Governance Solutions Amid DAO Review
Cardano founder Charles Hoskinson has launched an in-depth review of governance models across over 11,000 decentralized autonomous organizations (DAOs) to address internal disputes within the network. This move comes amidst a tense funding fight over an Input Output Global treasury proposal, which is on track to be rejected by Delegated Representatives.
Hoskinson has warned that if the proposal fails, IOG will not resubmit it, potentially leading to layoffs and the closure of some research labs. He is now considering registering as a DRep himself, giving him a direct vote in Cardano's on-chain system, or even holding a mini-convention before the 2027 governance cycle.
The review aims to provide structural fixes rather than quick patches, drawing on thousands of DAO models to shape amendments to how Cardano sets its roadmap and resolves executive-level disputes through its constitution. This follows months of strain within the Cardano community over governance direction, with earlier disagreements touching on IOG's handling of the Cardano Foundation.
