Hoskinson Hunts for Governance Solutions Amid Cardano's Funding Fiasco

Cardano's governance structure is facing scrutiny as Charles Hoskinson launches an extensive review of decentralized autonomous organizations (DAOs) to overhaul how the network settles internal disputes.

The review, which covers over 11,000 DAOs, aims to draw on a decade of research into governance models. The timing is critical, as it coincides with a contentious funding proposal for Cardano's 2026 research roadmap, including quantum security and scaling work.

Roughly 87% of Delegated Representatives are voting against the measure, which seeks 32.9 million ADA in funding. Hoskinson has warned that if the proposal fails, IOG will not resubmit it, potentially leading to layoffs and lab closures.

The review suggests Hoskinson is seeking structural fixes rather than quick patches, with a focus on constitutional amendments and new tooling. He may even register as a DRep himself to gain direct voting power in Cardano's on-chain system.
