Hoskinson Pushes for Cardano Governance Overhaul with Political Organization
Charles Hoskinson, the founder of Cardano (ADA), is pushing to overhaul the project's governance structure and create a political organization within the ecosystem. He believes that this change is necessary to revive the growth momentum of the project.
Hoskinson argued that Cardano must fix its decentralized governance structure to succeed in the long term. He views the rising cynicism and pessimism within the community as making it difficult to execute strategies. He dismissed the possibility of leaving the project, stating that Cardano has taken up most of his adult life and he has no intention of abandoning it.
The proposal for a political organization aims to create a structured channel for ADA holders to participate in governance through membership and voting. It will also coordinate key decision-making on development direction, treasury allocation, and long-term strategy. Hoskinson is seeking support from the community and is ready to take on stronger executive leadership if that's what they want.
However, he acknowledged that it's ultimately up to ADA holders and stakeholders to decide whether to launch this new governance structure or select another leader. He stressed that whoever leads, Cardano must unite under a consistent long-term strategy to succeed.
