Hoskinson Reaffirms Commitment to Cardano Ecosystem Amid $3 Billion Losses
Cardano founder Charles Hoskinson has reaffirmed his commitment to the Cardano ecosystem, stating that he remains one of the largest holders of ADA tokens. In a recent AMA session, Hoskinson highlighted the size of his ADA holdings, saying 'I'm one of the largest holders' but did not disclose the exact number of tokens he owns.
The amount of ADA allocated to Hoskinson from the initial token distribution in 2015-2017 remains undisclosed. However, earlier this year, he revealed that he had incurred more than $3 billion in losses as ADA declined sharply from its all-time high of $3.10 during the 2021 bull market.
Hoskinson emphasized his long-term commitment to Cardano despite the substantial decline in ADA's value, which has fallen over 90% from its peak and is currently trading around $0.24.
In addition to addressing his personal investment in ADA, Hoskinson also highlighted the size of Cardano's staking community, stating that around 1.4 million people stake ADA globally.
Hoskinson questioned why these participants do not have a more unified communication platform and proposed moving core community and governance discussions away from X and into a dedicated Discord server. However, this proposal has also drawn criticism from some community members who raised concerns about moderation and censorship.
