Hoskinson Renews Call for Gemini to List Cardano's ADA
Cardano founder Charles Hoskinson has once again called on Gemini to list ADA, the native cryptocurrency of the Cardano blockchain. The request came as Gemini celebrated its 11th anniversary, prompting Hoskinson to highlight the exchange's absence of ADA despite supporting other major proof-of-stake assets like SOL, AVAX, DOT, ATOM, and XTZ. Gemini has never explained publicly why ADA is excluded from its platform.
Hoskinson has been vocal about Gemini's ADA policy since 2022, raising the issue multiple times in 2024 and 2025 as well. His latest plea follows a rally in ADA's price and increased market activity, including the launch of the RealFi mainnet and growing futures open interest. Despite these developments, Gemini has not indicated any plans to add ADA to its supported assets.
The exchange's listing process considers factors such as demand, liquidity, maturity, utility, regulatory factors, cybersecurity risks, and ownership concentration. However, Cardano supporters question the omission, pointing out that ADA is traded on multiple exchanges and has been operational for years. Hoskinson has also suggested that Gemini may be missing out on potential trading revenue by not listing ADA, comparing the exchange to Binance and Coinbase, which have offered ADA markets for years.
Gemini has not responded to Hoskinson's recent request or provided any updates on its asset listing policy. Meanwhile, Cardano continues to pursue enterprise adoption and development, with recent partnerships and projects adding to the network's activity. Until Gemini makes a formal announcement, ADA remains unavailable on the exchange, despite repeated calls from Hoskinson and the Cardano community.
