Hoskinson Renews Push for Gemini to List Cardano’s ADA
Cardano founder Charles Hoskinson has renewed his campaign urging crypto exchange Gemini to list $ADA, the native cryptocurrency of the Cardano network. Hoskinson took to social media after Gemini co-founder Tyler Winklevoss posted a birthday message for the exchange, simply replying, "List $ADA."
Despite adding numerous crypto assets over the years, Gemini has yet to include $ADA in its offerings. The exchange currently supports other major proof-of-stake cryptocurrencies like Solana (SOL), Avalanche (AVAX), and Polkadot (DOT), but not Cardano's token. Gemini's listing policy considers factors such as maturity, liquidity, and market demand, but the absence of $ADA has left Cardano supporters questioning the decision.
Hoskinson has been playfully pushing for the listing for years. In December 2022, amid Gemini's struggles with crypto lender Genesis, he joked that not listing $ADA might be correlated with "bankruptcy and reckless behavior." Later, during a Twitter Spaces chat, he humorously noted that Cardano's exclusion from Gemini and FTX was likely a good thing. In September 2024, Hoskinson even stood near Gemini's booth holding a sign that read "Wen $ADA?"
In a 2025 interview with Blockchain Daily, Hoskinson argued that Gemini was the last major exchange not trading $ADA, estimating the platform missed out on around $70 million in revenue over five years. He contended that competitors like Binance and Coinbase had benefited from $ADA trading, highlighting the potential financial impact of Gemini's decision.
