House Oversight Widens Probe of Prediction Markets to Hyperliquid and Crypto.com
The House Oversight Committee has widened its investigation into potential insider trading on prediction market platforms. The committee, chaired by James Comer, is now examining Hyperliquid, Crypto.com, and Aristotle Exchange in addition to existing targets.
The inquiry focuses on how these platforms prevent users from trading with non-public information. Specifically, the committee has requested records on identity verification systems and procedures for detecting, investigating, and reporting suspicious trading activity.
The scrutiny of Hyperliquid comes after a large leveraged short position was opened on the platform shortly before a U.S. tariff announcement. However, it is unclear whether the trader had access to confidential information or engaged in insider trading.
