Hungary Ditches Crypto Validator Rule Amid EU Compliance Concerns

Hungary's crypto market is set to reopen after lawmakers repealed a contentious validation rule. The rule, which required crypto asset service providers to obtain third-party approval for certain conversions, conflicted with European Union law and disrupted normal market activity.

The repeal removes the extra transaction checks while maintaining MiCA duties, allowing authorized firms like CoinCash to process eligible transactions without validator certificates. This change is expected to support renewed services under the MiCA framework.

CoinCash operator Tiwala Solutions received direct authorization from the National Bank of Hungary in July, covering custody, exchanges, transfers, investment advice, and portfolio management. The company suspended services voluntarily in December 2025 while pursuing authorization and plans to restore products gradually.
