Hunter Biden, son of former U.S. President Joe Biden, is launching the LAPTOP meme coin on Base on September 9. This move adds another political token to the crypto market.

The project will issue 1 billion LAPTOP tokens, with a portion allocated for those who lost money on President Donald Trump's TRUMP meme coin. The token takes its name from the laptop controversy involving Biden during the 2020 presidential campaign.

Biden is also expected to join the project's founding team and 30% of the supply will be reserved for them, locked for six months before gradually unlocking over two years.
