Hunter Biden Launches Meme Coin LAPTOP in Swipe at Trump Family

Hunter Biden is launching a meme coin named LAPTOP on September 9th. The token will be issued on the Base network, which is run by Coinbase, and will have a total supply of 1 billion tokens.

The founders of LAPTOP will hold 30% of the supply, but they are barred from selling their allocation for six months. Their tokens will vest over two years. Another 20% of the supply will go to recipients who lost money on the TRUMP meme coin, including investors and traders.

The token's design includes a burn mechanism that ties up to 30% of the supply to predetermined events, such as a Democratic win in the 2028 presidential election or a new record high for Bitcoin. If these events do not occur, the tokens will go to charity instead.
