Hunter Biden Predicts Bitcoin to Reach $220,000 by 2028, Slams Elizabeth Warren's Crypto Criticism
Hunter Biden, son of former President Joe Biden, made headlines in the crypto community by predicting that Bitcoin will hit $220,000 by 2028. He expressed optimism about the future of cryptocurrency during an interview with BMTV.
Biden stated that he expects Bitcoin to reach this price target in six years' time. In addition to his bullish outlook on BTCUSD, he also touted the benefits of blockchain technology, citing its ability to facilitate cross-border transactions without the need for a 'mega monopolistic bank'. He noted that all his art is stored on the blockchain and provides blockchain-based certificates of authenticity for his paintings.
Biden also addressed criticism from Democrats such as Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.), who has been vocal about her concerns regarding the cryptocurrency sector. When asked about Warren's views, Biden replied, 'I love Elizabeth Warren. I really do. But I think she is so wrong about this.' He acknowledged that there are issues within the crypto world, including 'an enormous amount of grift', but criticized those who make blanket statements that Bitcoin will go to zero.
Biden's comments come at a time when his own memecoin, LAPTOP (LAPTOP), is attracting attention. The coin has collapsed more than 99% from its peak amid allegations of a pump-and-dump scheme. Biden attributed the launch issues to liquidity problems that led to 'artificial' price spikes in the first few minutes.
