Hunter Biden's Meme Coin Crashes Nearly 99% on Debut

Hunter Biden's meme coin, LAPTOP, debuted on Base at 8am ET on Wednesday and immediately skyrocketed to $190.81 within two minutes of launch, according to Arkham.

However, this rapid surge was short-lived as the token crashed to as low as $3.70 just an hour later, a decline of nearly 98% from its peak.

LAPTOP's fully diluted valuation briefly reached $144 billion against a liquidity pool of only $48,000, but this figure quickly plummeted to around $4.8 billion.

This pattern is not uncommon in celebrity and political meme coins, which often experience a rapid rise followed by a sharp decline.

The token's launch-day arc closely resembles that of President Donald Trump's TRUMP token, which peaked at $75 after its January 2025 launch but now trades around $2.24, down roughly 97% from its high.
