Husted Joins CLARITY Act Push as Odds Slip to 30%
U.S. Senator Jon Husted has thrown his support behind the Digital Asset Market Clarity Act, calling it essential for U.S. leadership in digital assets.
Husted, who was appointed to the Senate in 2025, made the statement on social media platform X, citing the need for regulatory certainty to stay competitive.
The CLARITY Act would create a comprehensive federal framework for crypto oversight, dividing jurisdiction between the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC).
However, despite Husted's endorsement, analysts are growing more cautious about the bill's prospects due to the Senate's 60-vote threshold and ongoing disagreements over ethics language.
Galaxy Research has lowered its estimate for CLARITY becoming law this year from 50% to 30%, warning that supporters may not even have a simple majority in hand, let alone the votes needed to overcome a filibuster.
