Hype Surrounds Upcoming September 29 Token Unlock
The token HYPE, associated with the Hyperliquid trading venue, is set to experience an unlock on September 29, 2026. Several data services have listed a release of tokens for this date, but their figures range from 330,000 to 14.18 million HYPE.
This discrepancy stems from differences in how each service counts the allocations towards the tranche and which circulating supply they use as reference.
A deeper analysis using Hyperliquid's own supply data reveals that a staggering 700,219,817 HYPE tokens are currently not in circulation, accounting for 70.10 percent of the total supply.
This is because the maximum supply stands at one billion HYPE, with only 298,680,849.52 HYPE counted as circulating supply. The remaining tokens are either future emissions or non-circulating holdings held by four addresses.
