HYPE Token Enters Nasdaq CME Crypto Index with 3.36% Weighting
Hyperliquid's HYPE token has secured a spot in the Nasdaq CME Crypto Index, marking another milestone for institutional crypto indexing. The index is a benchmark used by regulated financial products, and its quarterly rebalancing took effect on Tuesday.
HYPE enters the index with a 3.36% weighting, ranking just behind Solana at 3.79%. Bitcoin remains the dominant constituent at 74.36%, followed by Ethereum at 11.88%, and XRP at 5.21%, which saw a slight decline due to market fluctuations.
The inclusion of HYPE in the index is significant as it highlights the growing institutionalization of crypto beyond the largest tokens. Hashdex's Nasdaq CME Crypto Index ETF, which trades under the ticker NCIQ on Nasdaq, added HYPE to its portfolio in tandem with the index change.
Hyperliquid has emerged as a major decentralized trading ecosystem, and HYPE has been one of the stronger-performing large crypto assets this year, gaining nearly 223% so far in 2026. The token recently traded around $83.62 ahead of the rebalancing.
