Hyperion DeFi Surges to Record $31M Quarterly Profit on Treasury Gains
Hyperion DeFi posted its highest quarterly profit on record in Q2, exceeding $31 million. The Nasdaq-listed company's treasury gains skyrocketed to $54.8 million, a significant increase from the previous quarter's $21.5 million. This substantial growth contributed to Hyperion's adjusted EBITDA, which rose to $53.7 million from $19.5 million.
The company's financials also showed improvements in its GAAP gross profit and adjusted gross profit, which increased by 47% and 20%, respectively. Additionally, staking yield contributions rose 69% to $527,000, while yield-enhancement activities generated $334,000, up 58%. DeFi monetization contributed $158,000, ecosystem rewards added $90,000, and validator commissions totaled $42,000.
Hyperion held 2.04 million HYPE tokens at June 30, valued at $132.6 million based on a quarter-end price of $65 per token. The company's net asset value reached $134.2 million, compared to $69.9 million three months earlier. Cash, cash equivalents, and stablecoins totaled $11.8 million.
Notably, Hyperion signed an agreement with Entropy for HAUS, an upcoming HIP-3 deployer, and redeployed 1 million HYPE tokens since June to support HIP-3 and HIP-4 activity.
