Hyperliquid Advocates Push CFTC to Open U.S. Energy Perpetual Futures Market
The Hyperliquid Policy Center and tradeXYZ have petitioned the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) to allow energy perpetual futures contracts in the United States.
In a joint comment letter, they propose a compliant framework for trading crude oil and natural gas perpetual contracts 24/7, as well as the use of stablecoins and tokenized traditional assets as margin.
The proposal aims to integrate blockchain-based trading with traditional commodity markets, addressing concerns about market manipulation, investor protection, and systemic risk through on-chain transparency.
